A Bath exchange pupil has reportedly died after falling from a seventh-floor window in Spain.
The 15-year-old boy is understood to have died late on Saturday (October 19), just two days after arriving in Cordoba.
A large group of pupils from Beechen Cliff School in Bath had been taking part in a week-long exchange.
The boy was reportedly trying to fix a broken blind at the home of the family he was staying with when he fell, according to Somerset Live.
A National Police spokesman in Cordoba said: “There doesn’t appear to be any signs of criminality or evidence pointing to the involvement of anyone else.”
A police source confirmed: “The dead boy is a British 15-year-old who was on a school exchange trip.
“A full report is being prepared which will be submitted to an investigating judge in charge of the judicial probe into this incident.”
Alun Williams, CEO of Midsomer Norton School's Partnership which manages Beechen Cliff, said: "It has been reported to the school and the Trust that a tragic incident has occurred during a school exchange visit.
"At this point we do not have any further details and we are working closely with the LA and other authorities."
The Spanish school the boy was visiting, Medina Azahara, confirmed he had been going to classes but said no one was available for further comment.
Beechen Cliff is a state-funded day and boarding school for boys in Alexandra Park, with pupils from Bath and beyond.
