A 15-year-old boy could become a multi-millionaire this weekend as he battles to become a world gaming champ.
If Benjy Fish lifts the Fortnite World Cup tomorrow, his earnings will top the £1.5million US Open prize money tennis star Andy Murray won in the same New York arena.
Benjy and 10 other Brits beat 40million other competitors worldwide to qualify and will be among competitors battling it out for the £2.4million first prize at Flushing Meadows.
All finalists will take home at least £40,000, and the runners-up will also become millionaires.
Fortnite is arguably the planet’s most popular game – with 250million players worldwide. It involves 100 players being dropped on to an island where they have to find weapons, build structures and eliminate each other until one
player wins.
Benjy, known as Benjyfishy to his 600,000 social media followers, said: “I’d like to buy a house for my family.
“We’ve been renting since my dad passed away when I was eight months old, so it would be nice to be able to help out.”
