Boy, 15, charged over Scott Brown comment after Celtic beat Rangers at Ibrox

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with an alleged incident involving Celtic player Scott Brown outside Ibrox on Sunday.

A slur regarding the Hoops captain's late sister was allegedly made following the match in which Celtic beat Rangers 2-0.

Brown was reportedly asked: "How's your sister?"

Police Scotland have confirmed the teenager has been charged following social media coverage of the incident, reports The Daily Record.

A statement from the force said: “Following social coverage regarding an incident involving a Celtic player outside Ibrox on Sunday 1 September 2019, we can confirm a 15-year-old male has been charged in connection with the incident.

“He has been referred to the Early and Effective Interventions Co-ordinator.”
