Boy, 15, arrested after two men - including wheelchair user - hit by car in north Manchester

A teenage boy has been arrested after two men - one a wheelchair user - were hit by a car in north Manchester.

It follows an incident on Fold Street in Moston just before 11am yesterday (Wednesday).

A car hit the men on the street, just off Moston Lane, and failed to stop, police said.

Emergency services raced to the scenem near Moston Methodist Church.

Two men - aged 54 and 61 - were taken to hospital.

Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said in an update today (Thursday).

A teenage boy has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The 15-year-old was detained on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving; and taking a conveyance without authority.

He has since been released under investigation.

A spokeswoman said enquiries into the incident were ongoing.

The road remained taped off for several hours following the crash.

Witnesses reported seeing one of the men lying stricken in the road.
