Boy, 15, arrested after SWORD and knives found during south Manchester raid

A 15-year-old boy was arrested this morning after being found with drugs and a sword. This came as part of Operation Sceptre, national campaign to help tackle knife crime, in which a week of action is currently taking place.

Police say a warrant was carried out this morning in the Fallowfield area where weapons and a 'quantity' of drugs were found. The street has not been disclosed, but the warrant resulted in a 15-year-old boy being arrested.

This was after a sword and two knives were discovered. A quantity of class B drugs were also found during the raid.

The boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of offensive weapons and class B drugs, police say. They have since been released under investigation.

A post from GMP Fallowfield, Withington, Levenshulme, and Burnage, said: "The latest #OpEly warrant was carried out in Fallowfield this morning, where officers seized a sword and two knives, plus a quantity of drugs. A 15 year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession of offensive weapons and class B drugs and has since been released under investigation."
