Boy, 15, appears in court after man stabbed to death

A 15-year-old boy has appeared in court after a man was stabbed to death.

Connor Dockerty was stabbed outside shops on Kingsway in Huyton at around 8pm on Monday, April 19.

The 23-year-old, from Litherland, was taken to hospital but died from his injuries.

Following his death a 14-year-old boy appeared in court charged with murder and will next appear in Liverpool Crown Court on July 19.

Today a 15-year-old boy appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court charged with manslaughter.

Neither of the boys can be identified due to their ages.

Angela Conlan prosecuted the case at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on behalf of the Crown Prosecution Service.

The boy was represented by Joe Ely of Kenyon McAteer Solicitors while District Judge Paul Healey presided over the case.

The judge read the allegation of manslaughter to the boy and explained the case could only be heard in a crown court.

The 15-year-old was not expected to enter a plea and spoke only to confirm his age, name and address.

He was supported in court by his parents, who were allowed to move seats so they could see him in the dock.

District Judge Healey sent the case to the crown court and he will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on June 11.

The 15-year-old was remanded into custody until that date.

Heartfelt tributes were left outside the shopping parade following the death of Mr Dockerty.

One read: "Never enough to describe how much your [sic] gonna be missed lad, can't believe it, fly high bro. Rest easy, Con".

Another message said: "You will be missed Sloth, your [sic] not forgotten".
