Boy, 14, struck in the chest with scissors during brawl at Casuarina bus exchange

The incident comes after a number of recent stabbing incidents in the area.

A teenage boy has allegedly been struck with a pair of scissors during a brawl outside a Darwin shopping centre.

NT Police said the 14-year-old was struck in the chest during a fight with another young male near the Casuarina bus exchange at about 3:15pm on Friday.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics from St John Ambulance for a small cut to the chest.

Police said a "large crowd" surrounding the fight dispersed when officers arrived, with a woman nearby who was in possession of a baseball bat arrested.

Investigations are ongoing.

It comes after a number of recent stabbing incidents in the area, with a 22-year-old woman allegedly stabbing two people at the Casuarina Shopping Centre on April 15

Neither of the alleged victims suffered life-threatening injuries.

In a separate incident on the same night, a 51-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed by her 56-year-old partner outside a Darwin CBD hotel.

She later died in hospital, and her male partner was charged with murder

A 19-year-old man also remains in custody over the alleged stabbing murder of 20-year-old Darwin bottleshop worker Declan Laverty on March 19.
