Boy, 14, shot in foot in Lawndale

A 14-year-old boy was shot in the foot Thursday morning in Lawndale on the West Side.

The shooting happened about 7:50 a.m. in the 3900 block of West Fillmore Street, near Pulaski Road, according to preliminary information from Chicago police.

The boy was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.

He was the second 14-year-old to be shot in Chicago in two days.

Wednesday evening, a 14-year-old girl was shot and critically wounded while being chased by gunmen in Back of the Yards on the South Side.

Since last week Thursday, at least 10 other people 18 or younger have been shot in the city.
