A 14-year-old boy has suffered serious injuries after being struck by a car.
Emergency services raced to Formby Lane in Aughton on Thursday (July 8) just after 5pm following reports of a crash between a cyclist and a Honda Jazz.
Paramedics found the boy on the bicycle had suffered serious injuries to his head and ankle and took him to hospital.

His condition is described as serious but not life-threatening. The driver of the car stopped at the scene and was not injured.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses after a 14-year-old cyclist was left with serious injuries after being struck by a car in Aughton.
"Officers were called at 5pm yesterday (July 8) to reports of a collision between a cyclist and a Honda Jazz on Formby Lane at the junction with Greens Lane.
"The boy on the bicycle has been taken to hospital with head and ankle injuries. His condition is serious but not life-threatening.
"The driver of the Jazz stopped at the scene and was not injured."
Sgt Mick Belfield, of Lancashire Police’s Tactical Operations, said: “This collision has left a boy suffering some quite nasty injuries and my thoughts are with him and his family at this time.
“I would ask any witnesses or anybody with dashcam or CCTV footage which could assist our investigation to get in contact with police.”
