Boy, 13, taken to hospital after being hit by a car on main road in Salford

A boy has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car on a main road in Salford.

Emergency services were called to the collision on Regent Road at around 6.25pm tonight (Wednesday).

A boy - aged 13 - had been hit by a car as he was walking, police confirmed.

He was taken to hospital from the scene of the collision, which is believed to have happened near Regent Road roundabout.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At 18:26 hours this evening, officers attended reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian on Regent Road.

"A 13-year-old male has been conveyed to hospital with none life threatening injuries.

"The road is now re-open".

One lane was closed on Regent Road following the collision.

There was heavy traffic in the area, according to traffic alert service Inrix.
