A boy fell 20 floors to his death from an apartment while he was doing his homework, his family have tragically confirmed.
The 13-year-old who has been named as Matthew Pierre, was found shirtless at around 6am this morning in Midtown Manhatten, New York, US, according to police.
His family told officers that he had been on the terrace at 400 W. 43rd St, the New York Post reports.
His mother and sister were home at the time of the death, authorities said.
Matthew was pronounced dead at the scene.
The New York Police department said they had no further details available.
Officers did say injuries found on the victim were consistent of a fall from a high altitude.
