Police have confirmed that a 13-year-old boy has died suddenly in Alway, Newport.
Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called to a medical emergency at an address in Alway Crescent at around 2:30pm on Wednesday September 1.
Gwent Police say a 13-year-old boy was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff where he later died.
The death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.
Close family and HM Coroner have been informed.
