A 13-year-old boy has been arrested after members of a LGBT youth club were subjected to homophobic attacks.
The allegations relate to members of a LGBT youth club which is held at Caffe Gisda in Caernarfon.
The arrest comes after one club member was assaulted at a bus stop after leaving the cafe in July and other incidents of verbal abuse were reported.
During a meeting held on Wednesday, organisers confirmed that one club member was hospitalised as a result of a physical attack.
More than 150 people have been using the club since it launched in November 2017, NorthWalesLive reports.
Sergeant Non Edwards, from North Wales Police, said: "We'll continue to work to deal with problems, but we need people to work with us in partnership.
"We don't have any more police officers, so education is the key as well."
The club's founder, Aled Griffiths, described the incidents as "serious" and said there was a need to "stand up for equality".
Mr Griffiths has previously spoken about how the club aims to create an "inclusive" environment.
He said: "What we wanted to do was to create an inclusive environment for young people from the LGBT community.
“Somewhere they could come and have the freedom to chat, make new friends and express themselves which ever way they wanted.”
“I had a difficult journey growing up. There were no similar social groups which I could be a part of and at times I felt really isolated, right up until I left for university.
“By doing this I’ve had a chance to look back on my own experiences growing up and hopefully it’ll help others going through a similar situation.”
