A 13-year-old boy has been charged after a boy was allegedly shot in the face in a play park in Fife.
The incident, involving a BB gun , took place at a park on Magnus Drive in Glenrothes on Thursday evening.
The child's skin was broken after he was believed to have been shot in the cheek .
A Police Scotland statement read: "Glenrothes Police can confirm a 13-year-old boy has been charged with Culpable and Reckless conduct following reported incidents involving a BB gun in the Collydean Area of Glenrothes.
"We once again would like to thank the public for their assistance during this investigation."
