Boy, 12, and girl, 17, banned from town centre after being arrested for 'numerous offences'

A 12-year-old boy has been banned from a town centre after being arrested on suspicion of robbery and assault.

The boy and a 17-year-old girl were detained by officers in Wigan on Saturday (November 6).

Police said they were arrested on suspicion of 'numerous offences including robbery, assault and public order'.

Both have been interviewed and released under investigation.

One of the conditions of their release was that they must not enter Wigan town centre.

A post on the GMP Wigan West Facebook page on Sunday evening read: "Yesterday, a 12yr old male and a 17yr old female have been arrested on suspicion of numerous offences, including Robbery, Assault and Public Order.

"Both have been interviewed and released under investigation with conditions not to enter Wigan Town Centre.

"The investigation is ongoing."
