Boy, 12, airlifted to hospital after falling 45ft from Rhossili cliffs

A 12-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital after playing on cliffs and falling 45ft to the rocks below.

The boy was playing on the cliffs at Rhossili in the Gower Peninsula when he fell on Tuesday.

A spokesman for the Rhossili Coastguard said they were called to the incident at around 3pm.

The air ambulance landed on the beach (WalesOnline)

He said: "He sustained lots of cuts and bruises with a nasty cut to the head, but seemed otherwise ok.

"He was rushed to Cardiff hospital by air ambulance for further examination and treatment.

"He was a very lucky young lad."

The Mumbles Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team also attended the scene.
