An 11-year-old boy has suffered serious injuries after being hit by a truck in Wigan.
Police have taped off Scholefield Lane, close to St Catherine's C of E Primary School, following the incident shortly after 3pm this afternoon.
The youngster has suffered serious injuries and is being treated by paramedics.
An air ambulance has also been spotted landing in the area.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: " Shortly after 3pm, officers were called to Scholefield Lane after an 11-year-old boy was left with serious injuries and needing hospital treatment after being hit by a truck.
"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called to Scholefield Lane in Wigan at about 3.05pm.
"It was a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
"A boy has suffered serious injuries.
"We have attended with a rapid response vehicle, ambulance and an air ambulance."
