Boy, 11, saves injured puppy found cabled tied to a fence

An 11-year-old boy had rescued an injured puppy he discovered tied to a railing with cable ties around his neck.

The youngster was out playing he spotted the cream coloured tied to a railings beside a field and he was so upset and asked for help to set dog free.

Now named Winston, the cross breed was freed from the railings and the young boy took the dog home to his mother who cared for him until an animal welfare officer could reach them.

A spokesperson for the DSPCA said: "The pup was very skinny and had a badly injured leg.

"The family fed him and kept him safe until our inspector collected him and brought him back to our shelter. Winston was very underweight, starving and had suffered a broken leg.

"Words can not describe how upsetting we all were to hear his story. How could anyone leave him there tied up.

"He has a heart of gold and is incredibly sweet and not a bad bone in his body. He just loves being cuddled.

" Little Winston has been through such a cruel ordeal and we can not bear to think of his outcome had the little boy not have found him. What a wonderful little boy."
