A schoolboy was reportedly punched in the face by a man.
Officers were called to Eaves Lane in St Helens at around 8.50pm on Sunday, January 23 to a report of an assault.
Police said it was reported that a man shouted at the 11-year-old and then punched him.

The young boy sustained an injury to his face that did not require hospital treatment.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said they are now investigating the incident and are continuing to carry out CCTV and witness enquiries in the area.
The spokesperson for the force said: "At around 8.50pm on Sunday, January 23 officers were called to a report of an assault in St Helens.
"It was reported that a man shouted at a young boy on Eaves lane and assaulted him.
"The boy sustained an injury to his face that did not require hospital treatment.
"Officers are continuing to carry out CCTV and witness enquiries in the area."
