Boy, 11, missing after telling family he was going to play in park in east London

A search has been been launched for a missing 11-year-old boy who has not been seen since Monday.

Laviniu Tinea told his family he was going to a park in Dagenham, East London, to play, police said.

He is not believed to be carrying a phone, any cash or an Oyster card, which would enable him to use public transport.

Writing on Twitter, the Metropolitan Police said: "He has not returned home - police & family are extremely concerned for his welfare."

He disappeared from his home on Monday evening and has not returned since.

Officers said in an appeal shared on social media: "Laviniu is said to look older for his age.

"He is eastern European, with black hair, wearing black tracksuit with red stripes down each side of trouser leg."

Anyone with information about the missing schoolboy has been urged to get in touch with police.

Police told Mirror Online they have no further details about Laviniu's disappearance at this time.
