Boy, 11, arrested on suspicion of GBH after teenager stabbed in Bristol

A person arrested in connection with the stabbing of a teenager in Bristol was an 11 year-old boy, police have revealed.

A 14 year-old boy was taken to hospital after he was stabbed in the arm during an altercation in a car park next to Queens Road, Withywood, on Saturday (May 22)

His injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing according to officers investigating the incident.

A second boy was also physically assaulted during the altercation but suffered no visible injuries.

Detectives said they believe all those involved are known to each other and are treating the matter as an ‘isolated incident.’

Police have now confirmed an 11 year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) in connection with the incident.

He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: “An 11-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of GBH and released under investigation.”

Police say they are not linking the incident to any other recent incidents in the south Bristol area.

Officers will be carrying out additional reassurance patrols in the area in the coming days and investigations are continuing.

Anyone who has information about the incident should call police and quote reference number 5221112492.
