Boy, 10, writes heart-melting letter to his neighbours asking to walk their dog

A little boy has written an adorable note to his neighbours offering to walk their dog.

A photo of schoolboy Troy's letter alongside a hopeful looking Labrador puppy has gone viral after reappearing on Reddit.

The generous kid, from the US, asked for the pooch owners' permission to help out with their pet once the Covid pandemic is over, reports the Daily Star.

It appears the 10-year-old has never met the owners but has become besotted by their new dog during lockdown before taking out his felt tip pens and some paper.

He wrote: "Hello neighbours. My name is Troy.

The dog owner shared a snap of Troy's note online (Reddit / u/KingTimKap)

"I’m in the 4th grade and I’m just wondering if maybe after this virus you need a dog sitter and if so I can take your dogs on walks and more."

The neighbour was so touched by the sweet note they took a photo of it alongside their dog and posted it online - originally in 2020.

But the post has resurfaced and garnered more than 103,000 upvotes and hundreds of positive comments.

One person joked: "The dog has a look like it wrote the note and secretly just wants to play with the human pupper next door."

Another said: "Doggos face is like when you tell your friend to ask your mum if you can spend the night because she’ll say yes to your friend but no to you lol."

And a third added: "Troy seems like a real go-getter. Kid is going places."
