Boy, 10, nearly blinded after being shot in face with BB gun in Fife park

A ten-year-old boy was nearly blinded when he was shot in the face with a BB gun at a park in Fife .

The pellet is thought to have missed the boy's eye by an inch when he was shot at the play area in Magnus Drive, Glenrothes on Thursday.

Police were called to an address in Kintore Park later that evening, The Courier reports.

Several other children are reported to have been hit by pellets.

A post from Collydean Parent Council said that the child’s skin was broken after he was allegedly shot on the cheek.

The post read: “A child’s face has been hurt, the skin broken, by a child using a BB gun at Magnus Drive park.

“The child was shot on the cheek but an inch high and it would have been the eye.

“The kid with the gun apologised, was an accident, but please please, if this is your child take the gun from them - it’s not a toy.”

Police have confirmed that they are investigating the incident and are currently following a positive line of enquiry.
