Boy, 10, dies after getting into difficulty in the water on hottest day of year

A 10-year-old boy has died at a loch in Scotland during the hottest day of the year.

The tragedy took place at Loch Lubnaig, a well-known beauty spot near Callander in the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.

Police say were called to the location after the boy experienced 'difficulty in the water' but are not treating the incident as suspicious.

A major rescue operation was launched to find the boy after he fell into a river near the loch which went on for at least four hours.
