Boy, 10, and woman hurt by falling tree branch at Victorian school

A boy suffered pelvic injuries in the incident and was flown to hospital.

A falling tree branch has injured two people on the grounds of a school at Bendigo North, in central Victoria.

Emergency workers had to free two people, a carer and a child, who had been hit by the branch at a the Kalianna Primary School about 3:10pm when the branch came down on the school's basketball court.

A 10-year-old boy was flown to hospital with suspected pelvic injuries and the boy's carer, a 61-year-old woman, is in hospital in stable condition.

The pair were initially trapped under the branch but were freed by emergency services workers.
