Boxing star Ebanie Bridges ridicules Aston Villa after Leeds United frustration at Elland Road

IBF bantamweight boxing champion Ebanie Bridges has hit out at Aston Villa in a cheeky social media post after seeing her beloved Leeds United held to a goalless draw against Villa at Elland Road. Bridges branded Steven Gerrard's side 'p.....s' after watching her side return from a month long break with a 0-0 draw.

Bridges is a well known Leeds fan and often discusses the club on social media, as well as playing on her association to the Whites when boxing. The 36-year-old Australia posted several photos and videos of her trip to see Jesse March's side play on Sunday afternoon, standing in front of the Billy Bremner statue, posing with namesake Michael Bridges before the game and also posting a picture inside the stadium of Mark Viduka, with a caption, "The Duke".

Having watched on with frustration as Luis Sinisterra was shown two yellow cards, the second for blocking a Villa free kick by not being 10 yards away, Bridges joined other Leeds fans after the game in pointing out what they believed was time wasting and 'going down too easily' by the Villa players.

After the match, Bridges wrote on Twitter; “Aston Villa are p.....s.” She earlier retweeted a post taking aim at Gerrard's side, which read; “[They] Spend more time laid on the grass than playing football.”

Bridges is set to start her training camp this week as she prepares for her next fight. The world champion takes on Shannon O'Connell at the First Direct Arena in Leeds on December 10, on a show that also sees the return of the Leeds warrior Josh Warrington as he takes on Alberto Lopez.
