Boxing pound-for-pound rankings: Naoya Inoue closes on Canelo Alvarez, Vasyl Lomachenko after devastating performance

Naoya Inoue bolstered his reputation with a devastating display to wipe out Emmanuel Rodriguez and advance to the World Boxing Super Series final.

The Monster took just two rounds to destroy the Puerto Rican, remaining perfect and securing a 16th knockout inside 18 victories.

Inoue is now considered one of the sport’s truly elite fighters, many of whom have been active in recent months as the rankings continue to be shuffled this year.

Canelo Alvarez‘s win over Daniel Jacobs keeps him in contention at the top of the mythical rankings.

While Vasyl Lomachenko‘s majestic style was too much for Anthony Crolla. Another Brit, Amir Khan, fell to the impressive Terence Crawford as the world’s best make their claims for the throne.

Here are Independent Sport’s collated pound-for-pound rankings from our boxing reporters.
