Boxing news: Wladimir Klitschko in talks over stunning return to the ring

Wladimir Klitschko is reportedly in talks with DAZN over a sensational £76million return to boxing.

The Ukrainian heavy-hitter has not stepped in the ring since his knockout defeat by Anthony Joshua at Wembley.

But Klitschko has recently been hinting at a return to the sport he once dominated with a series of cryptic social media posts.

The Sun have reported that the 43-year-old is eyeing a stunning £76m return, the boxer believing he still has what it takes to fight on the biggest stage.

And DAZN promoter Eddie Hearn has now revealed that the streaming service have already opened discussions over a potential return.

He told IFL TV: “I think he is looking at it. Nothing is happening at the moment.

“DAZN have spoken to him. We’d love him back, I love Klitschko. I think he is great, but we will see.”

That battle between the all-time great and rising star Joshua signalled a changing in the guard in the heavyweight division and turned out to be the last time Klitschko was seen in the ring.

But on the second anniversary of their historic and absorbing Wembley contest, Klitschko recently dropped the biggest hint yet he could be set for a comeback.

Klitschko posted a photo of the pair at the weigh-in ahead of their stunning clash.

He wrote: "Although, I didn’t win the titles on April 29th 2017, for me, it was one of my best days in my long boxing career (so far).

"Thanks Anthony Joshua for being the perfect opponent and part of my obsession to become a champion again!" followed by the hashtag "obsessed”.
