Boxing news: Tyson Fury's trainer rules out Dillian Whyte fight for one reason

Tyson Fury's trainer has ruled his charge out of fighting Dillian Whyte in a final eliminator.

The heavyweight pair have exchanged social media jibes in recent weeks ahead of a potential clash.

But Ben Davison insists Fury has no interest in fighting Whyte for a shot at Deontay Wilder's WBC world title.

"Dillian Whyte stylistically is not the toughest fight for Tyson, but with that being said, Tyson’s not going to fight a final eliminator – that’s ridiculous," he told the Metro.

"He’s the lineal heavyweight champion of the world and everyone knows he beat Deontay Wilder , the WBC champion of the world. ‘Why would he have to fight a final eliminator? That’s the bad bit of it.

Tyson Fury lets fly at Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte in message to Deontay Wilder

"But, Tyson is chasing fights with Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua and if those fights can’t be made, don’t get it twisted, we’d gladly make that match-up with Dillian Whyte."

Fury is currently preparing for his fight against Tom Schwarz in Las Vegas on June 15.

It will be his first bout since his controversial draw with Wilder last December.

The rivals were expected to arrange an immediate rematch but Fury instead chose to face the unknown Schwarz.

Wilder meanwhile knocked out Dominic Breazeale in the first round of their clash on Saturday.

And Fury said: "I would just like to say well done to  Deontay Wilder  in knocking out Dominic Breazeale," Fury said on  Instagram  after the fight. "I got that prediction quite correct.

Boxing news: Deontay Wilder's message to Anthony Joshua after Dominic Breazeale win

"Anyone who wants to go toe-to-toe with Deontay Wilder will have the same fate as Dominic Breazeale and the rest of his 40 other victims.

"Anthony Joshua, you’ll get it as well - the same thing will happen to you mush. Dillian Whyte, you’ll get it as well."

"The Bronze Bomber is the most fearsome, most destructive puncher in the heavyweight division. It’s just a pity that he had to lose to the Gypsy King.

"Anyone who wants to stand in front of Deontay Wilder, he will knock them out.

"Deontay Wilder is the second baddest man on the planet behind the Gypsy King AKA  Tyson Fury  , the number one heavyweight in the world.

"Nobody can beat me, I can’t be touched."
