Boxing news: Tributes paid after death of Amir Khan's ex-trainer Oliver Harrison

Tributes have poured in from around the boxing community after the death of popular trainer Oliver Harrison, aged 59.

The Salford-based coach worked with Amir Khan when he first turned professional, leading him to an unblemished 17-0 record before the pair split in 2008 as Khan headed to the US.

Harrison went on to work with Khan's younger brother, Haroon, as well as the likes of Rocky Fielding, Jamie Moore and Martin Murray.

Moore has followed in his footsteps as a trainer and recently worked with some of Harrison's fighters as he battled with cancer.

Haroon Khan tweeted: "Devastated to read the news about Oliver Harrison my 1st pro-boxing coach gave me so much advice whilst we worked together in the many years of knowing him a true gentleman.
