Boxing news: Dominic Breazeale vows to silence Deontay Wilder and "make him pay"

There is plenty of bad blood between Dominic Breazeale and Deontay Wilder ahead of their May 18 showdown in New York.

The pair were involved in a brawl at a hotel in Alabama back in February 2017 after Breazeale had claimed a knockout win on the undercard of Wilder's win over Gerald Washington.

Breazeale has previously claimed he was attacked in front of his wife by Wilder's entourage - and he has now claimed he can "never forgive" his rival.

The 33-year-old is preparing for his second world title shot after being knocked out by Anthony Joshua in his only defeat back in 2016.

And he says he is determined to ensure Wilder pays the price for their past Alabama incident when they step into the ring.

"I can't wait to get my hands on him. What he did in Alabama in front of my family, I can never forgive him for nor will I ever forget," said Breazeale.

"Even after the incident in Alabama, he continued to bring my sons into it. I intend to make him pay come May 18th and shut him up once and for all. "

Breazeale has teamed up with legendary trainer Virgil Hunter ahead of the fight and says he is in perfect shape to take his chance with both hands.

"One of the reasons I moved camp was to ensure I was in the best shape possible and I'm already there. Virgil has prepared me well and 10 days can't come fast enough.

"I truly believe it was a great move making the change to Virgil as I needed something more.

"I went up for a week to train with Virgil and see if it would be a good fit.

"On the first day of training, I realized it was a great decision to make as he was pointing out some things I needed to work on and here we are 10 weeks later ready for the biggest fight of my life."
