Boxing news: Deontay Wilder responds to Tyson Fury's bare knuckle fight offer

Deontay Wilder has dismissed Tyson Fury's offer of a bare knuckle fight on the streets of New York.

Fury fought to a controversial draw with Wilder last December before pulling out of the rematch negotiations earlier this year.

He will instead fight unknown Tom Schwarz in Las Vegas next month while Wilder KO'd Dominic Breazeale in the first round of their fight last weekend.

Arriving in America this week, Fury offered to fight Wilder in Times Square.

He said: "[Wilder] is a big dosser, bum city, hashtag anytime any place anywhere, when we fight again, I promise he'll be looking at the stars.

" Deontay Wilder , go suck my nuts. If you want to do anything about it, come and fight me.

"If he's got anything to say, come see me.

"We'll have a bare knuckle fight in Times Square this evening."

But Wilder told TMZ: "That’s typical Tyson Fury .

"The only highlight from our whole fight is him getting dropped on his back.

"The same Tyson Fury that I gave a concussion to, I gave him memory loss to the point where he doesn't know how he got on the ground or how he got up.

"We can’t take what he says in mind because sometimes he forgets what he says as well."

Fury had been expected to fight Wilder this month before he opted to instead fight Schwarz.

But Fury revealed that he expects the rematch to be resurrected for 2020.

"Deontay Wilder cannot run from Tyson Fury forever. The fight has to happen," he told ESPN .

"This rematch has got to happen, but it won't be in May, June, July or August.

"This fight, I'm being told, is likely to happen in March or April next year."
