Boxing news: Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder 'postponed until 2021'

Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder may not meet until 2021, according to Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn.

The clamour for a unification fight between the duo shows no signs of letting up but fans are set to be forced to wait for a blockbuster showdown.

Hearn told IFL TV: “I know that [Luis] Ortiz has already been promised the Wilder fight, I know that [Adam] Kownacki has already been promised the Wilder fight.

“So we’re not just talking about 2020, we might be talking about 2021 when Wilder’s available.

“It’s bulls*** for the sport of boxing it really is and it’s annoying because certain people without the brain capacity presume that Joshua doesn’t want to fight Wilder - you couldn't be more wrong.”

Boxing news: Anthony Joshua says he would have still beaten drugs cheat Jarrell Miller

AJ will take on Andy Ruiz Jr in his next bout in New York on June 1.

He was scheduled to fight Jarrell Miller at Madison Square Garden but the American failed a drugs test.

Ruiz Jr has fired a warning to Joshua as he bids to claim the WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles.

"He's a champion of the world," he told Sky Sports. "There's nothing that I can say bad about him, besides that he's big but you know what, I'm big too and it doesn't really [matter] how big you are in this game.

"I'm a big fighter, a combination fighter, so I'm here to win. A lot of people underestimate me, like I said, the way that I look, my appearance, but as soon as they see me throw punches...

"I'm going to pull out the upset and June 1 tune in, two big heavyweights bashing their face up, and that's the main thing."
