Boxing legend Frank Bruno conquers Ben Nevis weeks after pneumonia battle

Boxing legend Frank Bruno beat torrential rain to climb Ben Nevis on Sunday, just weeks after a bout of pneumonia left him “fearing the worst”.

After the “evil” eight-hour hike up the Scottish mountain Frank, 57, said he could not wait to have a bath and a Guinness.

The ex-world heavyweight champ said: “It was nasty, going up was evil. It was just up, up, up, up.

“Even coming down was ruthless. It is not very nice at all, but it is for a very good cause.

“I’m looking forward to a bath and a massage.

"I don’t want to sit down for too long because I won’t be able to stand up again.”

Frank was joined by almost 40 other walkers to raise £22,000 for his mental health foundation.
