Boxing headlines as Otto Wallin threatens Tyson Fury plan and Tommy Fury set for $500k deal

Here are your boxing headlines from MEN Sport on Friday, November 5th.

Wallin determined for Whyte fight reschedule

Otto Wallin's promoter has made a damning accusation towards Dillian Whyte, as the German fighter looks to prevent Tyson Fury facing off against his fellow Brit in spring.

Wallin was due to fight Whyte on October 30th but the British heavyweight withdrew due to a shoulder injury and is now eyeing a WBC title shot against Fury.

However, his planned opponent believes the WBC should order the fight to be rescheduled and his promoter, Dmitry Salita, has accused Whyte of being 'selfish' and 'unprofessional'.

"There were so many red flags along the way prior to him pulling him out, comments about going straight into a Tyson Fury fight."

Tommy Fury set for $500k deal

Tommy Fury and Jake Paul will shake hands on a £500k deal when the pair meet in Las Vegas this weekend, as part of a bet to go alongside their December bout.

Paul has said that Fury should change his name to 'Tommy Fumbles' if he beats the Manchester fighter, while victory for the former Love Island contestant would net him half a million dollars.

The pair are said to have verbally discussed the proposal but will make it official this weekend when they meet in the United States.

“Mr Fury was afforded 30 days to make the name change. Mr Fury did not agree and desired for the bet to be a handshake."

Eddie Hearn jokes of boxing return

Eddie Hearn has joked he will return to the boxing ring to 'bring an end' to Paul if Fury suffers defeat later this year.

Fury and Paul will go toe-to-toe in Miami a week before Christmas, bringing their brewing rivalry to a head, in a fight that is considered to be 50/50.

However, Hearn believes that Fury has to win the fight and, if he fails to do so, has joked he'll step into the ring to face the American.

"I can’t believe it. Surely, Tommy must win that fight. If not, I’m going to have to come out of retirement and end this thing.”
