World boxing champion Josh Taylor’s father has been hailed a hero after he helped out a hard-up young mum by paying for her shopping.
Jamie Taylor dug into his own pocket when Jamie-Lee Hunter came up short at the checkout of a shop in Prestonpans, East Lothian, on Wednesday.
The mother of one, who said she was nearly moved to tears by his kindess, later posted a message on a community Facebook page.
She wrote: “Josh Taylor’s dad – I can’t find him on Facebook.
“Just want to say thank you again for paying for the last of my shopping today.
“I’m really struggling right now and you didn’t have to help.
"Not all heroes wear capes.
"Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
