Mairis Briedis sings ‘Happy Birthday’ to Jake Paul in desperate attempt to earn fight

World. champion Mairis Briedis has launched a desperate attempt to convince Jake Paul to fight him.

The 37-year-old is keen to fight the YouTuber, who is currently undefeated in his young career.

The Latvian wants a massive payday and will fancy his chances having just lost once in his own career - to current heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Briedis took to twitter and posted a clip of himself wearing boxing gloves while singing happy birthday to Paul, who celebrates turning 25 today.

However, the reigning IBF cruiserweight world champion put his own spin on the famous song.

In perhaps his worst singing voice, Briedis squawked: “Happy birthday Jake Paul, happy birthday Jake Paul.

“Happy birthday I’m gonna kick your a**, happy birthday Jake Paul.”

He ended his message by banging his gloves together before snarling at the camera.

Briedis recently got himself a tattoo on his thigh and warned that he will offer Paul "karma".

During an interview with iFL TV, Briedis has said that he is "all in" with his efforts to get a fight with Paul.

"I saw Jake had a tattoo that said 'karma' and thought I could combine it with my deer logo," Briedis said.

"It looks very nice, that's why we're even speaking, this year I've had a lot of ideas for what I need to do, I don't know what's happened.

"This is my life, my choice, my body, and it's like poker, I've gone 'all in'.

"The tattoo is a crazy thing for me, for my family, but we will see what happens, I hope my crazy things will become true.

"This is very serious, this is a crazy tattoo, but I will do everything to get my goal and I wish my dreams would happen."

Paul has hinted he could move to MMA after posting a video of him training.

The YouTuber has previously stated he would dabble in the world of mixed martial arts if he and White came to an agreement.

The American bolstered his preparations for a potential MMA debut after participating in his first kicks training session earlier this month.

Paul has become an incredibly divisive figure within the fighting community, and while Bantamweight fighter O’Malley believes that while the young star’s rise in boxing has been impressive, the MMA is a completely different challenge.

“It takes so long. It’s going to take a longer time to do what he did in boxing in MMA,” O’Malley said on his Sugar Show podcast.

“Boxing, he did it fast, which is impressive. He knocked out Tyron Woodley.

“I mean, that’s crazy. Like, that’s pretty crazy, but to go into MMA and have success, it’s a different level.

“There’s just too many things that you have to get good at.”
