Boxer's Spurs date looms as big fight night is rescheduled

Westwood boxer David Jamieson says it was a bittersweet moment to find that Friday’s fight in London is cancelled – but has a new date at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in November.

Jamieson, 29, is now due to face Swiss fighter Benoit Huber on the Hannah Rankin world title undercard on November 5, rather than at the Tower Bridge Hotel in a cruiserweight bout on Friday night.

He said: “The fight has been delayed, the news that every fighter doesn’t want to hear, but they want to reschedule it for November 5 on the Hannah Rankin world title undercard.

“It’s bittersweet, it’s at Tottenham Hotspur in some sort of conference room within the stadium.

“It’s still a cracking venue, a massive card to be a part of and a massive night to be a part of, but it’s obviously not the news we wanted for Friday night!

“It’s fantastic though, every cloud has a silver lining.”
