Boxer Michael Conlan's son stars with own version of The Lion King intro

West Belfast boxer Michael Conlan is in England taking part in training ahead of his December fight - and seeing videos of his children Luisne and Michael Junior make him realise he's "doing the right thing".

And this morning, little Michael gave mum Shauna his best impressions of The Lion King intro, which Michael says keeps him motivated to be his very best.

He told Belfast Live: "Everything I do, I do it for my family and for Michael and Luisne. Everything I do is with their futures in mind and I want to give them all that I can.

"Waking up to the video of wee MJ this morning just brightened up my day, and made me realise who I am doing this for. It is really tough being away from them, but the joy this video has brought me today is just amazing.

"Michael Junior is some character. He has been watching The Lion King from he was a newborn, I used to lay him on my chest and we would both watch it together and it would put him to sleep. It's a favourite in our house. Every time we put it on and wee Michael hears the intro his face just turns. It's so funny. He just stares at the TV waiting for it to start.

"He gets it on point, the timing of him mimicking it it just perfect. It brilliant for such a youngster to get it tune for tune.

"Being away is tough, but seeing videos of Michael and Luisne make me realise that they are what I am putting so much work in for. Everything I do is for them.

"When I get videos like this it just brightens up my day. I get a lot of motivation from videos of him. My work is all about them, and all I am focused on is their futures. When I come back from training I see a huge change in the kids' characters.

"Michael is keeping his mum on her toes, and I know he's missing me because he's on Facetime hugging and kissing the phone, I'm sure he's tortured living in the house with two girls, I just can't wait to get home to them."
