Russian boxer Sergey Vorobiev has divided the opinions of fans after brutally knocking out a sparring partner who dropped his hands during a session.
The clip, which Vorobiev posted with the caption "protect yourself at all times", was filmed last March whilst he was preparing for his fight against Alexandr Zhuravskiy. A veteran of 19 professional fights with just one loss, Vorobiev can be seen exchanging hooks in the sparring video with his opponent Tyson Djone, who wasn't wearing headgear, before the Russian lets off a roar.
Djone, who claims to be a former professional boxer, kickboxer and MMA fighter, then roars back at the Russian whilst sticking his chest out and walking towards him. With Djone's hands down by his waist, Vorobiev connects clean on the chin of his sparring partner with several hooks before rendering him unconscious with a left hand.
Fans have since weighed in on the incident with some criticising Vorobiev for hitting Djone whilst his hands were down. One user wrote: “Why would you hit a dude who’s not defending themselves though? And carry on hitting once they’re startled?” Another added: “You are a terrible person if you see someone who isn’t defending themselves and you continue to hit them especially if this is sparring and the guy has no headgear.”
Some users defended Vorobiev and said Djone should have protected himself. "It’s a fight and he’s mocking him, he isn’t not defending, he’s egging him on," one user added, with another stating: "Talk s**t, get hit.”If you put your hands down and mock your partner with those stupid brawls, you will get what you deserve."

Since the sparring incident, Vorobiev has won eight fights with five of those wins coming by knockout. The Russian most recently beat Adrian Perez by first-round stoppage earlier this month, easily dispatching the Venezuelan with a series of body shots to pick up his 19th professional win.
Djone does not have a professional boxing record but did take part in a fight against Russian neo-Nazi Viacheslav Datsik last year. Datsik is a known follower of the white supremacist organisation called the Slavic Union. Datsik, who has spent over nine years of his life in prison, defeated Djone by stoppage in the fight.
