Boxer Jake Dodd wins bronze for Wales at Commonwealth Games

Jake Dodd earned Wales' 21st medal of the Commonwealth Games by taking the bronze in his Men’s Flyweight division semi-final on Saturday.

England's Kiaran MacDonald edged their semi-final bout to progress to the final, beating Dodd by technical knockout.

European Championship silver medallist MacDonald will now fight for the gold tomorrow.

It was a tremendous performance from Dodd, who will return to the day job as a plumber with a medal hanging around his neck.

Dodd's achievement means it's now 21 medals overall for Team Wales at the competition - five golds, five silvers and 11 bronze medals.

Wales sit in ninth in the medal rankings, behind Australia, England, Canada, New Zealand, India, Scotland, South Africa and Nigeria.
