
A priest writes kanji characters on a square wooden container that will be used for the annual setsubun bean-throwing event in February, at Daichiin temple in Chita, Aichi Prefecture. The characters fuku (luck) and kotobuki (congratulations or longevity) are written on the outsides of the boxes. Priests will make about 2,500 of them for visitors who will attend a prayer service at the temple.
