So here’s the call. The College Football Playoff committee would love nothing more than to put Florida and UCF in the Orange Bowl, but that can’t happen – an ACC has to go to the Orange. The CFP would also love to avoid New Year’s Six rematches, but there’s no way they’re keeping a Florida team out of the Orange.
Yes, UCF vs. LSU and Georgia vs. Texas would be rematches from the last New Year’s Six, but that’s more attractive than LSU and Texas playing again after going at it earlier in the year in Austin.
