'Bowing down to the new king' - Arsenal fans notice what Olivier Giroud did to Matteo Guendouzi

It's another dreaded international break.

But it's not dreaded for one Arsenal star.

Matteo Guendouzi has replaced Blaise Matuidi in Didier Deschamps' squad for the games against Moldova and Albania in the coming days and he will be hoping to pull on the senior France shirt for the first time.

Guendouzi has played an integral role in Unai Emery's Arsenal side so far this season, often being singled out for praise in what has been a disappointing season so far.

He has been an ever-present in the Premier League and has been rewarded for his form with a call-up to the senior France squad, having worked his way through the age groups.

In joining up with the senior squad, Guendouzi is training with the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann.

There are plenty of Premier League stars alongside him too, with the likes of Kurt Zouma and Tottenham duo Moussa Sissoko and Tanguy Ndombele also in the squad.

He is also joined by a former Arsenal player in Olivier Giroud.

And some Arsenal fans have spotted what happened during training.

Art de Roche on what Unai Emery needs to improve

A photo has emerged of Guendouzi on the ball, with a smile on his face, with Giroud kneeling on the floor beside him, also smiling.

And that has led to a wealth of responses on Reddit.

The photo was posted on the site with the caption: Bend the knee Olivier. User @Chaiwalla2 responded: "Actually Giroud is bowing down to the new king."

Another user @some-dumb-nerd said: "The future is now old man," while @redditheroinmaking said: "Hahaha this pic is cold."

One other user @MajesticObjective then suggested Arsenal should re-sign Giroud.

"Apparently Chelsea are willing to let Giroud go in january/he wants to leave. Honestly, as crazy as it sounds, I would love to get him back, even if it's just for the remainder of the season.

"We don't have a player with his aerial presence, hold-up play, and selflessness from open play. Just a thought, very unlikely," they said.
