Bow Row retires from rap aged 29

The rapper Bow Wow has announced his retirement at the grand old age of 29.

Bow Wow, who used to be known as Lil Bow Wow but now goes by the aliases Bow Wow or his real name Shad Moss, made the announcement on social media.

He said he will be releasing one more album, produced by Snoop Dogg (who is still going strong in the rap game at the age of 44) but this will be the “last one”.

In a series of tweets, Bow Wow explained his retirement:

While 29 may be a premature age for retirement by usual standards, Bow Wow has actually been in the rap industry for 23 years, reports Billboard. He was noticed by Snoop Dogg at age six and later stormed onto the scene aged 13 with his single “That’s My Name”.

He later ditched the ‘Lil’ and released two further albums, Unleashed in 2003 and Wanted in 2005 and singles including “Like You” and “Let Me Hold You”. He released more albums in 2006 and 2009.

Bow Wow, who has previously starred in a number of films including Fast and Furious and presented the BET awards, said he will now devote his career to his acting, presenting and producing work.
