Bournemouth vs Newcastle prediction: How will Premier League fixture play out tonight?

Strugglers Bournemouth host Newcastle United this afternoon as Eddie Howe’s side aim to kickstart their hopes of Premier League survival.

The Cherries have suffered back-to-back defeats since the restart, leaving them inside the relegation zone on goal difference. A victory would lift them to 16th in the table, but Bournemouth still face a tricky run-in, with games against Manchester United, Tottenham, Leicester and Manchester City still to come.

Newcastle, meanwhile, have secured their future in the top-flight, although the club is still consumed by uncertainty as their takeover saga rumbles on. Steve Bruce’s side returned with an emphatic victory over Sheffield United but have lost momentum recently with a draw against Aston Villa and last weekend’s FA Cup quarter-final defeat by Manchester City. Follow all the action live below:

FULL TIME
Full-time: Bournemouth 1-4 Newcastle

Gosling's late goal is not even a consolation for the Cherries, who are well beaten by Bruce's side thanks to finishes from Gayle, Sean Longstaff, Almiron and Lazaro.
GOAL!
90+4 mins: GOAL!

It's scrappy, but Gosling knocks the ball over the line as he falls into the net!

Something to celebrate for Bournemouth fans...?

Bournemouth 1-4 Newcastle
90 mins: Five minutes of added time to come.
90 mins: As poor as Bournemouth have been, and as miserable as this evening has been for them, Newcastle deserve credit tonight.

They've been composed and energetic in equal measure this evening, switching gears at just the right times.

Saint-Maximin, with three assists in one hour on the pitch, has to be Man of the Match, but his team-mates Almiron and Lazaro provided fantastic finishes. Gayle's and Longstaff's were clinical, too.
87 mins: Bournemouth have a very tough run-in and are in a really perilous position.

As things stand they are 19th in the table, behind Aston Villa and West Ham on goal difference.

The Hammers are up next this evening, hosting Chelsea.
84 mins: Gosling heads a cross back across the Newcastle goal, but his team-mates are too slow to react...
81 mins: What a dire evening it's been for Bournemouth. There's little more to say than that. Other than a brief spell of energy at the start of the second half, they've offered nothing of real note going forward and have been sloppy in defence from the opening whistle onwards...
78 mins: CLOSE!

Lazaro, moments after scoring, tries his luck from range and hits the bar! Hayden tries for a rebound just yards out, but Bournemouth block well!
GOAL!
77 mins: GOAL! Lazaro with a fine, fine finish!

A Bournemouth move ends with Solanke going down on the edge of the Newcastle box, but no foul is given. The visitors go straight up the other end and Shelvey plays through Lazaro behind the Cherries backline.

He floats a finish wonderfully past Ramsdale and into the top right corner of the net!

Bournemouth 0-4 Newcastle
SUBS
75 mins: Lerma is replaced by Gosling for Bournemouth.

Joelinton and Manquillo leave the pitch for Newcastle as Hayden and Yedlin come on.
74 mins: Harry Wilson picks up the ball on the right wing. He drives up the line and sends in an inviting cross, but none of his Bournemouth team-mates can get on the end of it.
73 mins: Bournemouth win a free-kick out on the right. It's driven in and headed out, before a deflected shot results in a corner for the hosts.
71 mins: Joelinton veers in from the left flank, but his pass into the box is aimless and Bournemouth clear.
69 mins: Fernandez is off the pitch for a matter of moments, but is thankfully okay to continue.

Newcastle get straight back to attacking through Almiron.
68 mins: King tries to control a lofted ball in the Newcastle box, but backs into Fernandez as he does.

The Newcastle defender seems to have taken a knock to the jaw, and receives some treatment.
64 mins: Probably a smart choice from Bruce to preserve Saint-Maximin's fitness with the game essentially wrapped up now. He's such a key player for Newcastle at the moment.

A terrific performance from the forward, who provided the assists for all three Magpies goals.
SUBS
62 mins: Brooks and Groeneveld depart the pitch for Bournemouth, with Stanislas and Harry Wilson coming on in their places.

Meanwhile, Carroll and Lazaro come on for Newcastle as Saint-Maximin and Gayle head off.
60 mins: Bournemouth go close from range, but with 30 minutes to go they really need to be clinical now.
GOAL!
57 mins: GOAL! Almiron!

I said Newcastle were still threatening, and they punish Bournemouth again now.

Almiron clips a delightful finish into the top left corner of the net from the edge of the box.

Bournemouth 0-3 Newcastle
56 mins: Bournemouth are at least getting forward more than they did in the first half, and they actually look like they could get one back. But Newcastle are still threatening...
