Bournemouth vs Manchester United
Premier League 2018/19
Venue: Dean Court
Date: Saturday 3 November
Kick-off: 12:30pm BST

Manchester United are looking to secure back-to-back wins in the Premier League for just the second time this season against free-scoring Bournemouth.

Jose Mourinho’s side provided a much-improved performance in their win against Everton – even if there was a familiar tense ending after Gylfi Sigurdsson’s late penalty.

That win only lifted United to eighth however with nine points still separating them and leaders Liverpool.

A win on Saturday will lift them level on points with Eddie Howe’s side, who have outscored every team outside of the top four this season.

Team news

Bournemouth captain Simon Francis is a doubt for the home game against Manchester United.

The defender is nursing a slight groin problem following the Carabao Cup win over Norwich in midweek. A scan on the injury has shown no serious damage and Cherries boss Eddie Howe will make a late decision on Francis' fitness.

Joshua King will remain absent. The Norwegian forward has missed the last two games with an ankle injury and will not be ready to return against his former club.

Antonio Valencia, Marouane Fellaini and Diogo Dalot remain absent as Manchester United travel to Bournemouth this weekend.

United captain Valencia has been absent for a month, with manager Jose Mourinho confirming a knee injury will keep him out of Saturday's trip to the south coast.

Fellaini and Dalot remain out with injuries sustained during the international break, but Jesse Lingard and Alexis Sanchez are back to full fitness. United boss Mourinho did not provide an update on Phil Jones, who last featured for the club on September 25.

Head to head

This will be just the 15th meeting between these two sides with United winning nine of those.

The Cherries have just two wins to their name; one back in 1984 and the other in 2015 during Louis van Gaal's reign in charge at Old Trafford.
