Marcus Rashford’s late strike spared Jose Mourinho’s blushes after Bournemouth threatened to kick off a tricky week for Manchester United with a defeat after Callum Wlison gave Eddie Howe’s side a deserved early lead.
Anthony Martial levelled the score before the break and United looked a much better side after half-time. Marcus Rashford came on to build on the side’s improving performance and completed the comeback with a scrappy goal in the second minute of added time after the 90 minutes were up.
Nathan Ake was named man-of-the-match for his initial effort to keep the score level with a series of impressive last-ditch tackled and one particular clearance from the line.
But Rashford had the final say in a thrilling match at the Vitality Stadium.
