Bournemouth vs Liverpool LIVE
Amine Adli scored a 95th-minute winner as Bournemouth beat Liverpool 3-2 at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday. The Reds started the far brighter of the two sides but could not muster so much as a shot on target in the early stages before Bournemouth struck on the break. Marcos Senesi’s stunning through-ball carved Liverpool wide open and Alex Scott squared to Evanilson to open the scoring. The second came shortly after and in very similar fashion as Alex Jimenez doubled Bournemouth’s lead with a close-range effort, this time created by James Hill.
But Virgil van Dijk headed home moments before the break to halve the deficit. Liverpool’s second-half performance mirrored their first - they dominated the play but struggled to challenge Djorde Petrovic. But Dominik Szoboszlai needed only one opportunity as he slammed a free-kick home to tie it with just over ten minutes remaining.
Hill was presented another chance at a long throw deep in injury time, though, and this one caused chaos in the box. Adli got the crucial touch to poke home the winner with what proved to be the final kick of the game. Bournemouth 2-0 Liverpool
18:06 , Arthur Ferridge36mins: You get the distinct feeling that Liverpool really do not deserve to be two goals down here. They’ve had the better of the play, more shots, more possession, etcetera, but Bournemouth have been surgically precise in their attacking. Two shots on target, two goals.
Bournemouth 2-0 Liverpool
18:05 , Arthur Ferridge35mins: And, after all that, Endo has finally replaced the injured Gomez.
GOAL! Bournemouth 2-0 Liverpool | Jimenez '33

Adli whips it into the area from deep, and it runs all the way through to Szoboszlai. He finds Salah again, but Smith cuts it out. Turning into a bit of a basketball game, this.
Bournemouth 0-0 Liverpool
17:44 , Arthur Ferridge14mins: The first corner of the day is to be taken by Salah. His ball goes to the back post and is headed in the direction of Wirtz, but the Cherries are first to it.
The next phase of play sees Liverpool attack through Wirtz, whose cross for Szoboszlai is turned goalwards but without much pace. It is an easy save for Petrovic.
Bournemouth 0-0 Liverpool
17:41 , Arthur Ferridge10mins: Szoboszlai plays Salah through with a wonderful through-ball. He is in acres of space and looks to cross for Gakpo, but doesn’t quite line it up right and Bournemouth clear their lines.

Bournemouth 0-0 Liverpool
17:39 , Arthur Ferridge8mins: Senesi picks out Frimpong’s pass to set Bournemouth on the counter. Jimenez’s ball for Evanilson is blocked, and the hosts are forced back into their own half.
Bournemouth 0-0 Liverpool
17:36 , Arthur Ferridge6mins: A nice combination between Wirtz and Salah tees the latter up for a shot from the very edge of the box. He spins it just wide of the far corner.
Bournemouth 0-0 Liverpool
17:34 , Arthur Ferridge4mins: Senesi does well to cut out Mac Allister’s cross for Salah, but he cannot quite clear his lines. Bournemouth eventually break out but are halted by Kerkez’s foul.
Bournemouth 0-0 Liverpool
17:32 , Arthur Ferridge2mins: Quite direct from Liverpool early on. Gomez smashes one long for Salah, who can’t quite keep it in. Goal kick for the Cherries.

Last time out: Liverpool 4-2 Bournemouth
17:10 , Arthur FerridgeLiverpool’s previous meeting with Bournemouth was the first match of the Premier League season and produced a six-goal thriller! Reminisce on the action below...
Liverpool's defence of their Premier League title got off to an unconvincing start but the late 4-2 victory was soured by alleged racist abuse directed at Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo.
The winger responded brilliantly with both the Cherries' goals as they came from two down as Andoni Iraola's side exposed the same defensive weaknesses Crystal Palace did in Sunday's Community Shield victory.
But forgotten man Federico Chiesa, Liverpool's solitary signing last summer who has barely featured and whose future looked to be elsewhere, volleyed home his first league goal in the 88th minute before Mohamed Salah scored for the eighth time in nine opening-day fixtures.
But that did not diminish what was hugely-deserved credit for Semenyo, who did not allow the first-half incident to throw him off his game, as he gave former team-mate and Liverpool's new left-back Milos Kerkez a torrid time.
Liverpool had announced the £23million signing of 18-year-old Parma centre-back Giovanni Leoni before kick-off but it would be no surprise for this result to hasten the pursuit of Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi with Ibrahima Konate, in particular, looking particularly shaky.
Slot explains Ekitike absence
17:04 , Arthur Ferridge“We have one No9 available, four months to go, and we have played a lot of games already. We have to manage his minutes also to keep him available for the long-term. That is why Hugo is not starting today but Cody is.”
Arne Slot explains Liverpool transfer strategy
17:01 , Arthur Ferridge“With a lot of signings we have made, you can see the progression they are making in terms of adjustment to the team and also in terms of power and being able.
“For Milos, it hasn’t happened much where he is playing at the weekend and in the week. A few times, I’ve played [Andy Robertson] during the week.
“Milos is getting stronger and stronger, playing better and better. He is improving. It’s normal.
“If you look at the age of our signings, they will not only be better in the second half of the season but they will be better the next season, and the season after, and then that season after.
“That is the way this club is run. We sign young players with a lot of room for development, although they are already really good. He’s improving. But not only him. All young players do.
“We have to make sure that the players at the other levels stay at their elite level.”

Slot on Chiesa
16:08 , Arthur FerridgeTeams will be out at 4.15pm, but will Chiesa feature?
Here’s what Arne Slot said yesterday...
“Federico wasn’t able to be on the bench on Wednesday. There was a recovery session yesterday, so we have to wait and see today.
“It’s difficult for me to say whether he is available for Bournemouth. We don't expect him to be out for long, so it would be 50/50 maybe if he is available for tomorrow.”
Why is Ibrahima Konate unavailable?
16:03 , Arthur FerridgeIbrahima Konate will not feature for Liverpool today as he has been given special leave following the passing of his father.
He did not feature against Marseille for the same reason.
The Frenchman confirmed the news in a social media post.
He wrote: "Thank you all so much for your messages, calls, thoughts and presence today at the mosque.
"Even though I haven't had the strength or time to reply to everyone, this really touched me and did a lot of good.
"Thank you for your support and prayers May Allah keep you safe.”

Robertson to Tottenham?
15:46 , Arthur FerridgeLiverpool could stand to lose a club legend this month as Tottenham are reportedly in talks to sign Andy Robertson.
The Scotland international, who is out of contract in the summer, is keen to play more minutes ahead of this summer’s World Cup, and Standard Sport understands that talks between the two clubs are advancing.
He has travelled with the squad today, and is expected to be involved in some capacity at the Vitality.

Bournemouth vs Liverpool head to head
15:38 , Arthur FerridgeThe Cherries are in the market for just their third win over Liverpool ahead of their latest meeting. The reverse of this fixture raised the curtain for the 2025-26 Premier League season, with the Reds winning 4-2 despite a brace from Antoine Semenyo.
Bournemouth wins: 2
Liverpool wins: 19
Draws: 2
Standard Sport prediction: Score draw
15:30 , Arthur FerridgeNeither Bournemouth nor Liverpool are in particularly fine form of late, suggesting that the fireworks of their previous meeting may not be replicated.
Iraola and Slot are both under a certain level of scrutiny as results falter, but this match seems a presentable opportunity for the Reds to grab three points, with the Cherries injury-ravaged and still adjusting to life post-Antoine Semenyo.
Liverpool, however, face a tight turnaround between their midweek trip to Marseille and another arduous away day. This one may well end in stalemate.
Draw, 1-1
Bournemouth early team news: Debut pending?
15:23 , Arthur FerridgeBournemouth also have their fair share of long-term absentees.
Marcus Tavernier is the newwest addition to the list after picking up a new hamstring injury in last weekend’s draw with Brighton.
Other first-team fixtures Justin Kluivert, Ben Gannon-Doak, and Tyler Adams are all on the physio’s table, while Enes Unal is out through the end of the month with a groin problem and David Brooks is a doubt with a twisted ankle.
Alex Toth could make his debut after signing from Ferencvaros this week.

Liverpool early team news: Chiesa "50/50"
15:15 , Arthur FerridgeIbrahima Konate remains unavailable following the death of his father.
Mohamed Salah is set for his first Premier League start in two months.
Federico Chiesa is rated a “50/50” fitness doubt after missing the Marseille game.
Alexander Isak remains sidelined for months with a broken leg, while Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni are both expected to miss the rest of the season with serious knee injuries.
