AFC Bournemouth's Adam Smith has blasted Newcastle United, claiming that Steve Bruce's men didn't 'work' for their goals.
The defender, who struggled to contain Allan Saint-Maximin, says Bournemouth were left frustrated, and believes his side 'just stopped playing' after taking the lead in the 14th minute through Harry Wilson.
DeAndre Yedlin equalised for Newcastle with three minutes to go until the break before Ciaran Clark grabbed the winner shortly after the re-start.
Speaking after the game, Smith said: "I just think when we were 1-0 up, we just stopped playing. I think they pressed us differently.
“It was us stopping playing and them changing their tactics slightly, with the mistakes there comes more pressure and the crowd get involved. From there, it’s just a scruffy game.
“It’s not even like they’ve worked for their goals. It’s frustrating.”
Having come into the game in good form, beating Manchester United in their last game 1-0, Smith was left frustrated at his side's inability to get a 'positive' result at St James' Park.
Smith added: “People say ‘oh, we beat (Manchester) United and we think this is going to be easy’.
"We don’t go into the games thinking that.
"It’s just the small margins with their first goal. Goals change games. It’s frustrating because we beat (Manchester) United and we can’t come to Newcastle and get a positive result.
“It’s annoying not having consistent results. There was something to build on from last week and it seems like we are always in this position.”
